Darren Bent says £60m striker Arsenal want to sign is better than Erling Haaland
Arsenal will surely sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, Arsenal have been in the market for a new striker seemingly since the dawn of time at this point.
18 months ago, Ivan Toney was Arsenal’s key target, but that deal didn’t ultimately happen.
Meanwhile, over the summer, Arsenal wanted Benjamin Sesko, but the striker decided to stay at RB Leizpig.
In January, Arsenal failed with a bid for Ollie Watkins, and their striker situation has only worsened since then after Kai Havertz was ruled out for the season.
The summer transfer window isn’t all that far away, and heading into the summer, Arsenal want Alexander Isak.
Speaking on Inside Gooners, Darren Bent has been discussing Arsenal’s links to Isak, and he says that the £60m Arsenal target is actually better than Erling Haaland.

Alexander Isak is better than Erling Haaland
Bent spoke about Arsenal and the links to Isak.
According to the pundit, the man is the perfect signing for Arsenal, and he said that the Newcastle ace is better than Isak as an all-round striker.
“He’s the one I would love Arsenal to get, but a lot depends on where Newcastle finish,” Bent said.
“The thing with Isak we’re talking about him in the same breath as Erling Haaland,’ The host said.
“I think he’s better all-round. That’s not, I think as a goalscorer, yeah, Haaland is probably the best on the planet, but in terms of all-round, I think he’s the best,” Bent added.
Alexander Isak compared to Erling Haaland
Bent says that Isak is better than Haaland, and this is a debate that is bound to split opinions.
On one hand, Isak does have better on-the-ball technique than Haaland, he has more finesse about him and he’s more refined as a footballer.
On the other hand, Haaland is perhaps the greatest goalscorer the Premier League has ever seen.
At the end of the day, a striker is going to be judged on their goals, and comparing Haaland’s Premier League stats to Isak do make this argument quite one-sided.

Of course, Isak is playing in what has been a weaker team in recent years, so perhaps if he joined a team like Arsenal he could match Haaland in terms of goals.
Whether or not Arsenal are able to sign Isak this summer remains to be seen, but if they do get this deal done, they will be signing one of the best strikers on the planet.
