Darren Bent says £18m Aston Villa player could be a great signing for Arsenal

Arsenal need a new striker in the near future.

Arsenal are really lacking depth and quality up front. As things stand, Kai Havertz is Arsenal’s only fit striker at the minute, and even then, Havertz isn’t a natural striker.

🀅Arsenal have looked at a lot of striker options this month, but they haven’t made much headway on that front.

Arsenal bid for Dusan Vlahovic, but that offer was rejected, while Benjamin Sesko isn’t leaving RB Leipzig in January.

Speaking on Inside Gooners, Darren Bent꧅ has been discussing Arsenal’s transfer plans, and he says that Jhon Duran would potentially be a top signing for Arsenal, albeit an unrealistic option for the Gunners.

Jhon Duran would be a great Arsenal signing

𒀰Bent shared his verdict on who Arsenal should sign, naming Duran as a player he thinks would be a great addition.

𒊎Bent says that the man could develop into a top player, but this transfer is probably unlikely.

ဣ“Sorry, do you know who could be a good one, but again, it’s probably not realistic and you’re not going to get him, it would be Jhon Duran. He’s young, 21, I know maybe a little bit inexperienced, but has scored goals, keep him around the squad. Could he develop to a top player?”

🌸“I think he could do, but again, the new contract he just signed at Aston Villa, it looks like he’s going to be their main man ahead of Ollie Watkins. How much is he going to cost? Probably 60, 70, maybe 80 million.”

Duran compared to Kai Havertz

ꦰBent says that Duran would be a great signing for Arsenal, and he’s not wrong.

⭕The Aston Villa striker has been in lethal form this season, and when you compare his stats to Kai Havertz’s, you can see why he’d be so good for Arsenal.

♕Unfortunately, as Bent says, Duran probably isn’t attainable.

West Ham bid for Duran🐼 this week, but that offer was promptly rejected, and it would appear as though Aston Villa’s stance is that Duran is not for sale.

💮However, with Ollie Watkins still Villa’s first-choice number nine, Duran may angle for a move before too long, and if that is the case, Arsenal should be alert to any opportunities.

ꩵArsenal need a new striker, and a player like Duran could be just what the doctor ordered at the Emirates.
