Darren Bent has urged Tottenham to pursue Edinson Cavani
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has urged the club to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
that Harry Kane will undergo surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his hamstring, and will return to training in April.

It is a devastating blow for Spurs which could seriously dent their hopes of finishing in the top four come May.
Kane had been in fine form before the injury scoring 17 goals and adding another 13 for England across Nations League and European Championship qualifiers.
The development could now force Tottenham to dip into the transfer market and in the eyes of Bent, Cavani – a £55 million signing back in 2013 () – is the man they should be going for.

, he said: “Spurs now, in this window, need to go and sign a centre-forward. Not one that can play backup to Harry Kane when he comes back, they need one to come in now.
“We spoke earlier off air about Cavani, there’s your guy, go and get him. He’s getting on in age but he can still do a job, but they need a number one centre-forward to come in now.”
TBR’s view – Cavani a fantastic Kane replacement
Spurs should absolutely be making enquiries about Cavani as Bent suggests.

He is still a quality player despite the fact he’ll turn 33 in March, and his contract runs out in the summer so theoretically he would not cost a fortune.
Interestingly, Cavani admitted during his time at Napoli that it’d be a pleasure for him to be managed by Mourinho (), and there’s a chance he could still feel that way.
With 198 goals in 241 appearances for PSG, he is undoubtedly worth consideration by the now Kane-less Tottenham.
