‘Most important player’: Darren Bent says Thomas Partey is now Arsenal’s main man

Arsenal fan and regular TalkSPORT pundit, Darren Bent, has said that the Gunners are a completely different side without Thomas Partey.

The Ghanaian midfielder seems to be over the worst of his injury problems. Sitting in the middle of the park, Partey has been key in Arsenal’s rise to the top of the Premier League table.

Of course, it’s not always been the same for Partey. He’s had to deal with a number of injuries since signing for

However, now he’s over those problems and playing regularly, Ben believes that Partey is now Arsenal’s most important player.

“My top four at Arsenal would be Ramsdale, Saliba, Partey who’s the glue, and then Gabriel Jesus. But Thomas Partey, when he’s not in that midfield, they look completely different,” Bent said on .

“Then you’re asking Xhaka to play a role he doesn’t want to play. He wants the license to go forward, get involved and score. When Partey’s not involved he can’t do that. He is the most important player at that club.”

Partey has games this season with a thigh problem. Coincidentally, that was when the Gunners lost their only game of the season. Manchester United did the damage with no Partey in midfield, winning 3-1 at Old Trafford.

TBR’s View: Partey is Arsenal’s most important player

There were early signs from Partey when he arrived at Arsenal. He has always looked a quality player, but those injury and fitness worries have plagued him.

However, he now looks the real deal. Arsenal are flying and Partey, as Bent says, is key.

You do feel there are certain players within this Arsenal side who Mikel Arteta cannot afford to lose. Partey is one of them, and if he was to go down injured again, you fear for the Gunners. As it is, he’s currently doing the business and Arsenal fans will hope that continues.
