Darren Anderton hails Tottenham talent Dele Alli that has touch of arrogance
Ex-Tottenham player Darren Anderton has admitted he’s blown away by the quality of current star Dele Alli.
The 22-year-old has developed into a key Spurs player under manager Mauricio Pochettino and he’s returned from an injury problem for the crunch time in the season.
He’s managed just 26 games across all competitions this campaign for the North London club, scoring seven goals and supplying five assists in return.
The attacking midfielder usually gives the team an extra creative edge and has scored some big goals already in his career, including World Cup and Champions League ones.
Anderton has raved about the England international and also stated he’s got the arrogance that elite players have.
“When it matters he’ll come up with those important goals and make those runs. He’s such a clever player and plays with freedom and a touch of arrogance at times, which is nice from a top player because that’s what they have,”
“He never gets fazed and no occasion is too big for him so it’s great to have him back. Alli can open up defences and provide that little bit of magic.”

TBR’s View:
It’s quite surreal the career Alli has already had for Spurs aged just 22 and he’s been a phenomenal signing from MK Dons.
The playmaker now has 172 senior appearances for the Lilywhites under his belt and is one of the most influential figures ahead of the move to the new stadium.
He certainly does have an arrogance with the way he plays his game, but his confidence on the ball and technical ability justifies that.
Alli is always maturing as a player and it’s a testament that he’s got the qualities to play in either deeper or attacking midfield positions.
