Darren Ambrose publicly states he doesn’t want Liverpool to win the quadruple

TalkSPORT pundit Darren Ambrose has publicly stated that he doesn’t want Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to win the quadruple this season.

The German’s Anfield side are chasing an unprecedented four trophies this season and are on the cusp of making footballing history.

The red half of Merseyside have already won the Carabao Cup after beating Chelsea on penalties, and they will face Thomas Tuchel’s side in the FA Cup final after beating Manchester City 3-2 in Saturday’s semi-final clash.

Liverpool face Villarreal in the Champions League semi-finals and will leapfrog City at the summit of the Premier League table if they avoid defeat against fierce rivals Manchester United tonight.

But former Charlton, Ipswich and Newcastle midfielder Ambrose has made his feelings known on Liverpool’s pursuit of history.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the 38-year-old made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t want Liverpool to enter the record books.

Ambrose said: “I don’t want Liverpool to win it at all.

“I hope they batter United tomorrow just because it takes them away from Arsenal and Spurs.

“Then I hope Tottenham batter Arsenal and Spurs are front runners. They could win tomorrow and lose every other game, I wouldn’t care.”

If Pep Guardiola’s City do slip up in the Premier League, Liverpool are 11 wins away from completing a clean sweep of trophies and making it a perfect season.

Judging by Ambrose’s comments, the pundit will be hoping that Klopp’s men slip up along the way in their pursuit of rewriting football history.
