Danny Rose’s Ryan Sessegnon comments may excite Newcastle fans amid links with Spurs star

that Newcastle United are interested in taking Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Sessegnon on loan for the coming season.

The report noted that Steve Bruce is set to only be handed £30 million to spend this summer. And thus, he is looking out for potential bargains.

That has reportedly prompted the Magpies boss to look at loaning Sessegnon. The wide-man endured a tough first season with Tottenham, arguably only showing glimpses of his true potential.

Nevertheless, Sessegnon could be an extremely exciting addition for Newcastle. One player who would surely back the youngster to be a success at St James’ Park is Danny Rose given comments he made about his Spurs teammate in December.

– shortly before he completed his own loan move to Newcastle – Rose lauded Sessegnon as he commented on the struggles that the 20-year-old endured during his first few months at Spurs due to injury.

“We know Ryan is for the future,” he said, . “We know what he can do now, but he was just so unlucky. He arrived at the club injured and then he had a bit of a setback but I hope there’s not a lot of pressure on him.

“He is so down to earth, he’s so quiet. We’re all looking forward to seeing what he can do for us in the coming years.”

Of course, Newcastle will be hoping that he will be more than one ‘for the future’ if he joins on loan. But he has previously impressed at the highest level.

He scored twice and provided six assists in Fulham’s most recent year in the top flight. And he would move to Tyneside looking to prove a point after a tough first season at Spurs.

Of course, Newcastle still need to convince Tottenham to loan him out. And perhaps Bruce may also have to tempt Sessegnon into a move should they clear that first hurdle.

But should they get a deal across the line, there is certainly the potential for a loan move for Sessegnon to prove inspired.
