Danny Rose and Fabian Delph still speak about the good old days at Leeds United amid recent transfer links

Leeds United have been linked with a potential move to bring both Fabian Delph and Danny Rose back to Elland Road this summer.

that Marcelo Bielsa wants players with some Premier League experience brought into the club this summer and the former academy graduates at Leeds fit the bill.

Delph has struggled for fitness since joining Everton last summer and left Leeds for Aston Villa in 2009. Rose is hoping to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and has recently been on loan at Newcastle United. He left Leeds as a teenager, joining the Tottenham academy.

Both would undoubtedly welcome a return to the club after their recent promotion back to the Premier League.

In fact, judging by comments Rose made ahead of England taking on Costa Rica at Elland Road in the summer of 2018, it is clear the pair still have very fond memories of their time at the West Yorkshire club.

“It was a great place to grow up and I really enjoyed it,” Rose . “As far as academies go, I started pretty late really. I grew up in Doncaster and I first came to Leeds when I was 11 or 12 and I was here for four or five years. Growing up in the north, at that time, Leeds United were probably the best academy along with Manchester United, without a doubt.

“Whenever I meet up with Fabian Delph, we always talk about those days and how good they were.”

Since then, it has been a tough time for Leeds United but the good times appear to be back at Elland Road and Delph and Rose would undoubtedly be welcome additions, as long as they bought into the philosophy of Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa.

Time will tell if anything actually does come of these rumours, but Delph and Rose’s homecoming would certainly be an absorbing tale to follow.
