Danny Murphy stunned by Leeds fans after dramatic Norwich win
Danny Murphy that the Leeds United fans deserve credit for continuing to support the team even after Norwich City scored an equaliser on Sunday, labelling the atmosphere inside Elland Road unbelievable.
Leeds put their supporters through the most Leeds performance possible against the Canaries. Heading into the game, it appeared to be an absolute must-win as they look to stay in the Premier League.

Jesse Marsch’s men dominated the large part of the game. And they created more than enough chances to put the contest to bed. However, Rodrigo’s deflected effort would prove to be the only goal before the end of the 90 minutes.
But then, Norwich stunned Elland Road into silence. Kenny McLean equalised in the 91st minute. And at that moment, it seemed inevitable that Leeds were set to be relegated.

However, the crowd then responded as Illan Meslier sent a long ball forward. Joe Gelhardt won it and that immediately set Raphinha on his way. The Leeds fans responded by willing the Brazilian forward.
And there was ecstasy as Raphinha rounded Tim Krul and set up Gelhardt for the 94th minute winner. It really does appear to have the potential to be a pivotal moment in Leeds’ season.
And Murphy has suggested that the Leeds fans deserve enormous praise for the way they responded to the equaliser.
“I have to give the Leeds fans credit today because even at 1-1, they didn’t drop,” . “They just kept going. It was unbelievable. They’re going to need that as well. There are going to be some tough games to come.”
Last two games sum up the power Leeds fans have
Sunday ended in a vastly-different manner to Thursday’s 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa. On that occasion, the discontent was made obvious by the number of empty seats that emerged towards full-time.
In fairness to the fans, that seemed to be the first time that the atmosphere turned even slightly toxic. It felt a notable moment in Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure when there were a few boos at half-time against Tottenham in what proved to be his last game.
Sunday is going to stick with Leeds fans for a very long time, particularly if they now stay up. It is the reaction Jermaine Beckford got when he scored the promotion goal against Bristol Rovers, and the reaction Pablo Hernandez would have got had he scored in front of fans down at Swansea.
Gelhardt has certainly now written his name into club folklore.
