Danny Murphy says Manchester United man is now done at Old Trafford
Danny Murphy has reacted to Manchester United finishing bottom of their Champions League group by insisting that Erik ten Hag is done at Old Trafford, and it is a matter of when and not if he leaves the club.
Erik ten Hag continues to come under serious pressure. Manchester United have now lost six of their last 11 games in all competitions.

They faced a huge uphill battle trying to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. United needed a win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and for Copenhagen and Galatasaray to draw.
Neither happened.

The 1-0 defeat to Bayern was met with apathy amongst the fans. And in truth, that has been the prevailing feeling at Old Trafford for some time.
Speaking on today, Danny Murphy insisted that he does like the Dutchman. However, he believes that it is now a matter of time before he ends up leaving the club.
“The thing now is that it actually creates huge pressure: A, going out of Europe completely, and B, with no excuse of European games, the Premier League results are emphasised and amplified even more now,” he told The Take On.
“But I have to say this honestly, and it’s not because of the Liverpool hate United thing, and I don’t even dislike ten Hag, he seems like a good fella, but it’s a matter of when, not if he goes. He’s done.”
New manager may change little at Old Trafford
The problem for Manchester United fans is knowing that getting rid of ten Hag is probably not going to change a great deal.
United have now had a number of very good managers over the last decade, all with their different attributes. And yet, they seem to be moving further and further away from achieving success again.
Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho are two managerial greats. Meanwhile, ten Hag did an excellent job at Ajax. But they have managed to only win a handful of trophies for the club between them.
So ten Hag may leave at some point, but that will clearly not solve everything.
In fact, it is not clear what it will really solve at all.
