Danny Murphy names ‘Liverpool’s best player’ vs Arsenal in FA Cup

Danny Murphy has given his verdict on the performance of Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Liverpool midfielder was impressed by the display produced by Alexander-Arnold in the FA Cup tie.

So, what has Danny Murphy said about Trent Alexander-Arnold? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold vs Arsenal

Well, Liverpool were in action against Premier League rivals Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday evening.

Trent Alexander-Arnold started the match at right-back, but the 25-year-old often drifted into midfield and asked questions of the Arsenal defence.

The England international was denied by the frame of the Arsenal goal in the first half.

Alexander-Arnold was the architect of that Arsenal conceded late in the tie.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy was following the match for BBC, and while discussing at half time Alexander-Arnold’s impact on the game and almost scoring, he described him as the Reds’ best player against Arsenal.

Murphy said about Alexander-Arnold on : “He has been Liverpool’s best player. His passing, he is just beautiful with his passing, and this is the impact, this is the impact that he has now in games more.

“Nearly every game you watch Liverpool play, nearly every game he plays now, Trent, he is impacting the game positively and productively.”

My View: Trent Alexander-Arnold one of Liverpool’s best and most important players

In my opinion, Liverpool and England international right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the best players on the planet and is world class. He genuinely is.

As Danny Murphy has noted, Alexander-Arnold is making an impact in each and every game. He is a force to be reckoned with when going on the attack. Jamie Carragher rates him highly.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is letting the right-back drift into midfield, and that has allowed him to take his game to another level.

The defender has scored two goals and given three assists in 17 Premier League starts for Liverpool this season. He has scored 14 goals, given 57 assists and kept 68 clean sheets in 216 Premier League matches so far in his career.
