Danny Murphy lauds ‘unbelievable’ Ivan Perisic during Croatia win
Danny Murphy told (broadcast on 17/12; 16:41) that the athleticism of Ivan Perisic is unbelievable during the Tottenham Hotspur star’s performance in the third/fourth place play-off at the World Cup.
Perisic’s Croatia rounded off another remarkable tournament on the biggest stage by beating Morocco on Saturday. They scored twice in the first-half on their way to a 2-1 victory.

Perisic set up the opening goal with a superb header for Josko Gvardiol. The Spurs star managed to flick the ball perfectly into the centre-back’s path, allowing Gvardiol to produce a brilliant diving header.
Ivan Perisic lauded during Croatia win
He was not able to get the goal which would have made the wide-man the leading goalscorer for Croatia at World Cups. But he did impress once again as his country signed off with only their second win of the tournament in 90 minutes.

Murphy praised Perisic during the second-half. There was one moment where he did extremely well to flick the ball on after a long kick from Dominik Livakovic. And that prompted Murphy to laud the veteran.
“Do you know, I saw that ball coming over to Perisic. His ability to leap, the athleticism, unbelievable. Only one winner,” .
Croatia’s run to the last four of the World Cup comes with a downside for Tottenham. Perisic has been a key part of Antonio Conte’s squad since his move to North London in the summer.
Despite turning 34 next February, Perisic has featured in every single one of Spurs’ Premier League games. In fact, the Champions League tie with Eintracht Frankfurt is the only fixture he has played no part in.
He is now likely to get some time off before making his return to Tottenham. And that will be a frustration for Conte.
He is a player Conte clearly trusts enormously. So he will be counting down the days until he is back in the fold.
