Danny Mills comments on Ben White’s future at Leeds after promotion
that Leeds United must do everything they can to keep Ben White this summer, after the English defender played a crucial part in the Whites gaining promotion from the Championship.
White, 22, has started and finished every single Championship match under Marcelo Bielsa this season – and has attracted interest from some of England’s biggest clubs. His ball-playing style has received numerous plaudits.
back in October that Leeds are willing to pay £20million for White, but that value may have increased since then. However, he has entered the final two years of his current contract.
Former Leeds ace Mills commented on the defender’s future – and urged owner Andrea Radrizzani to keep the uncapped English ace following the club’s promotion to the Premier League in the coming months.

“Ben White has been sensational,” . “Coming into centre-half, playing in midfield at times, he’s a fantastic defender. I think he’s absolutely superb, he can play, he can defend. Can Leeds now keep hold of him?
“Will Brighton want him back because he has been so good? Is there, I don’t want to say a bigger club, a richer club willing to take him? That’s a really key acquisition to try and keep him.”
TBR’s view – What would be a good price?
Leeds is ideal for White. Having been moulded into the perfect Bielsa defender, remaining at Leeds is surely his best move. A return to Brighton would see him have to learn a new type of play – and he may not start.
Similarly, a move to a bigger Premier League club would see White – who remains somewhat inexperienced – struggle to get regular game time. Surely a permanent move is ideal for White, or at least a second loan.
