Danish media hail reported Arsenal target Jesper Lindstrom

Jesper Lindstrom has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, and his performance for Denmark yesterday showed why.

The Danes crashed out of the World Cup after losing to Australia in their final group game. Denmark only managed to pick up one point in the entire tournament, and their performance yesterday has been described as ’embarrassing and humiliating’ by their national media outlet, .

National media hail reported Arsenal target Jesper Lindstrom

German outlet reported a couple of months ago that Arsenal have initiated contact with Lindstrom’s representatives to discuss a potential move in 2023.

The 22-year-old, , has had a fine season in Germany. He has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 22 appearances, which is an excellent return for an attacking midfielder of his age.

Lindstrom started for Denmark yesterday and he was arguably their best player. In what was an otherwise terrible team display, the Frankfurt star caught everyone’s eye – including his national media, who are raving about him.

claim that Lindstrom took under five minutes to impress. He showed a lot of quality on the pitch yesterday, but the outlet says that he was let down by his more experienced teammates.

“Wow, a tunnel from Jesper Lindstrom after five minutes,” the outlet wrote as they rated him 3/5 – no other player earned a better rating.

“It gave him air under the untested national team wings. It was from him that it had to come, which one can wonder a lot about. The potential is huge, but he is left in the lurch by the experienced figures.”

TBR View:

Denmark were a few people’s dark horses in Qatar after their phenomenal Euro 2020 campaign last year. However, they’ve been extremely disappointing in the World Cup this time.

After a draw against Tunisia in their opening game, the Danes suffered a defeat against world champions France, but the one that hurt the most was yesterday, when Australia got one over them.

Denmark’s World Cup campaign is now over, but Lindstrom should be very happy with how he played against the Aussies. He would’ve surely impressed all his suitors, and he could well get a move away from Frankfurt in January.

Whether Arsenal will be the ones making that move remains to be seen.
