Daniel Levy was right not to sanction £200k-a-week Bernard move

Everton are set to sign Brazilian attacker Bernard on a free transfer this summer. The 14-cap international left Shak🧸htar Donetsk in the summer looking for a move to a more competitive league. Now it appears Marco Silva has convinced the diminutive talent that a move to Everton is the best ꧋for his career.

The Toffees are not the only team that have purs💞ued his signature t🐭his summer. Tottenham Hotspur were also keen on the player.

The report suggests Spurs were keen but balked at his £200,000-a-week wage demands. It is easy for Spurs fans to feel frustrated at this decision. Once again, Daniel Levy’s fr🔯ugality has perhaps cost Tottenham a star.

🐷However, on this occasion, To꧃ttenham have made the right call.

Bernard is a brilliant 𝔉footballer but at £200,000 he would have gone straight in as one of To✃ttenham’s highest paid players.

It would have caused mass disparity in the paychecks at Tottenham. Imagine a player who has never played in one of🐬 European football’s top leagues coming in and getting paid more than Christian Eriksen?

It would have been a complete meltdown of the Tottenham structure. The queue of agents wanting more money for their clients would ♎have been as long as the wait for Tottenham’s new stadium.

If Bernard had bags 🌠of Premier League experience under his belt and maybe 𒐪50-plus caps for Brazil, it would be a different story.

But the fact i⭕s, he is even behind Lucas Moura in the pecking order ♐for his nation.

Paying him sucꦏh extortionate wages would have been a big mistake from Tottenham Hotspur. On this occasion, Levy has made the smart c൲hoice.
