Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has spoken highly about Jamie Shackleton amid uncertainty over the player’s Elland Road future.
The Whites boss, speaking to ahead of Tuesday’s FA Cup replay, says he really likes and rates the 24-year-old, who “always gives 100 percent”.
Shackleton‘s future at Elland Road is uncertain due to his lack of game time and contract that expires at the end of the season.
The versatile defender impressed on loan at Millwall last season, but hasn’t been able to get that much game time under Farke this term.

Shackleton has made just 13 appearances in all competitions for the Whites this season, although 11 of those have been starts.
He has only played one minute of first-team football – off the bench in the final stages of the win at Cardiff last month – since playing the full 90 minutes Huddersfield back in October.
But despite uncertainty over Shackleton’s future, Farke insists that he’s a big fan of the player and suggests that he wants to keep him at Elland Road.
“I really like and rate him,” said the Leeds boss. “He’s so flexible and can play different positions.
“He has played a lot in central midfield positions, but has played for us in right back and left back positions.
“Jamie is a player who always gives 100 per cent and has a lot of dedication for Leeds United.
“You always want to have such a player who is always reliable whenever and wherever you need him, yes we will look after Jamie.”
Shackleton wasn’t able to train ahead of the FA Cup meeting with Plymouth Argyle due to illness, so he’s very unlikely to feature for Leeds in the clash at Home Park.
“Jamie Shackleton is unwell with illness and he hasn’t trained today,” Farke said on Monday.
“So he is a major doubt. All other players came through last game without any knocks.”

Shackleton is a top talent who’s definitely worthy of first-team football, and it looks unlikely that he’ll stay next season even if Leeds offer him a new contract.
At 24, he’s really got to be thinking about playing regularly, so there’s a good chance he’ll twist rather than stick. And there’s bound to be sides in the Championship who’ll be after his services.
