‘Dangerous’ player has decided to reject Liverpool and join another club this summer

Liverpool are yet to sign a single player in this summer’s transfer window.

Everyone expected Arne Slot to make some big moves after he succeeded Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, but nothing has happened yet.

The new Premier League season starts in less than 10 days, and Liverpool fans are concerned about their side’s lack of business so far.

Now, there is more bad news as one of Liverpool’s targets has decided against moving to Anfield this summer.

Maximilian Beier snubs Liverpool for Borussia Dortmund

Liverpool have been linked with a number of players over the last few months.

The Reds’ priority has to be their midfield, but they could do with reinforcement in defence and also upfront before the window shuts.

Liverpool’s attack is already world-class, so many might argue why they need a new forward. However, with Darwin Nunez misfiring and Luis Diaz’s output not as great as you would want, there is room for improvement.

One player who has been linked with Liverpool is Maximilian Beier.

Liverpool have been keeping an eye on Beier since 2023, when Klopp was still at the club. That interest has remained and there is now an update.

Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Liverpool held talks with Beier in recent days in a bid to convince him to join them.

However, the 21-year-old has decided to snub Liverpool’s interest and wants to sign for Borussia Dortmund in the coming days.

Plettenberg tweeted: “Liverpool have never lost their focus on Maximilian Beier. There were talks in recent days and weeks!

“But, we‘ve been told again today: Beier has clearly decided to join Borussia Dortmund over all other options. Process ongoing to reach the total agreement between #BVB and Beier.

“After that, Dortmund will open the negotiations with Hoffenheim.”

Why did Liverpool want to sign Beier?

Beier is one of the most impressive attacking talents in Germany.

The ‘‘ forward, still only 21 years old, was a regular for Hoffenheim in the 2023/24 season. He scored 16 goals in 29 starts in the Bundesliga, which is a solid return.

Apart from his goals, we’re sure Liverpool would’ve been impressed with his versatility. The German can play up front, as a left winger and also as a number 10.

That would’ve given Slot a lot of options in the upcoming campaign, but unfortunately for the new Liverpool boss, his attempts to sign Beier have failed.

If everything goes to plan, Beier will join Borussia Dortmund this summer.
