Patrick Bamford was on fire last season, however, there was a real lack of options aside from the Englishman.
Tyler Roberts was the backup centre-forward, but, his injury problems coupled with his lack of potency was a worry. The Welshman notched up just one Premier League goal last season.
It all means Bielsa was incredibly lucky the 27-year-old went through the entire season without injury. However, taking that chance next campaign can have a disastrous impact.
Cunha can be a great transfer to bring competition to the number nine position for Leeds United.
He was in great form last term, contributing 16 goals across all competitions. The Brazilian’s blend of attacking instinct and playmaking creation was a strong point. played more key passes and averaged more shots per game compared to .
Competition is imperative in any squad, however, moreso for Leeds. The Yorkshire outfit were lucky to get away with possessing just Bamford last season. It’s unlikely they are to get away with it two seasons in a row.
