Crystal Palace, West Ham and Wolves among Premier League clubs scouting 26-goal playmaker likened to Jon Dahl Tomasson
TBR Football can exclusively confirm that Bournemouth, Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Wolves have all been scouting FC Twente star Sem Steijn this season.
Bournemouth, Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Wolves are all likely to strengthen their ranks in the summer transfer window.
The Cherries, the Bees and the Eagles are all around mid-table at present and will be eager to kick on and potentially challenge for Europe next season.
Meanwhile, the Hammers and Wolves are languishing in the lower reaches of the table and will want to be well clear of danger next season, should they stay up.
All five clubs are now eyeing a player who has enjoyed quite a remarkable season in the Eredivisie.

Sam Steijn on Premier League clubs’ radar in wake of 26-goal heroics this season
FC Twente star Sem Steijn is emerging as a player of interest to a host of Premier League clubs, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is enjoying a stand-out campaign in the Eredivisie.
Steijn has claimed 26 goals with another six assists from his 39 appearances so far this term, and his progress has not gone unnoticed.
TBR Football can reveal that Bournemouth, Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Wolves have all watched him in recent months.
There is also interest emerging from Germany and France.
What Sam Steijn could bring to the Premier League
Steijn has enjoyed a remarkable rise to prominence in the Netherlands over the past two seasons with two impressive campaigns on the goal front.
In 2022/23, he registered six goals and two assists from 37 outings, which is not a bad tally by any means for an attacking midfielder.
Then, the following season, Steijn began catching the eye with 19 goals and three assists from 39 outings.
And this season, Steijn’s goal tally has become remarkable – 26 goals and six assists from 39 appearances, and the campaign isn’t over yet.
Scouting outlet wrote in 2024: ‘Steijn is crucial in Twente’s attacking play, bringing that creative spark to the team’s build-up play, finding spaces and creating dangerous chances in advanced areas.
‘Whilst he does need to improve in several facets of the game such as aerial duels, his ambitious style of play and blistering speed makes him a counter-attacking threat, boasting the composure and balance in possession to provide much-needed flair and unpredictability to the attack.’
Meanwhile, noted how comparisons have been made between Steijn and Denmark legend Jon Dahl Tomasson.
