Crystal Palace now want defender Tottenham bid £20m for on deadline day to replace Marc Guehi

Crystal Palace had a decision to make on transfer deadline day.

Out of nowhere, Tottenham bid £70m for Marc Guehi – captain of Crystal Palace – a decent offer for a player in the final 18 months ꧋of his contract, although the ♍Eagles felt it was too late to sell.

In response, Spurs offered £20m for Maxime Esteve of Burnley, alth𒁃ough the Clarets did not want to sell so late in the wind💧ow either.

Ultimately, Tottenham went without another new central defender to add to Kevin Danso, although the north Londoners could have a better chance of signing Marc Guehi this summer amid a rumour emerging from Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace want Maxime Esteve

A story from now states that Crystal Palace accept the England international is likely to leave Selhurst Park this summer, and are keen to bring Esteve – the man Spurs bid for after Guehi – as his replacement.

Alan Nixon adds that Rav van den Berg of Middlesbrough is also an option being considered by Crystal Palace – who may need ꦛmore than one new central defender if Guehi leaves, after Chelsea recalled Trevoh Chalobah and Chadi Riad suffered a serious injury.

The Sun also claim that Newcastle and Chelsea are keen to sign the Crystal Palace No.6 along with Tottenham, so Spurs will n⭕ot❀ have a free run at his signature this summer.

What Chelsea think will happen with Marc Guehi as Tottenham interest lingers

There is sure to be 𝓡a bidding war for the 24-year-olಌd this summer.

Even if a fee can be agreed for the man from Abidjan, he will ultimately have the final say on where he goes, and according to Give Me Sport, Chelsea believe Guehi will choose them over Tottenham.

It was the Blues who sold the defender to Crystal Pal📖ace for £18m back in July 2021, but despite that, those at Stamford Bridge ar𝄹e confident about bringing him back.
