Crystal Palace now have medical booked for player Arsenal sold one year ago after signing Eddie Nketiah
Crystal Palace have already secured something of a coup, signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal, who wasn’t making any progress in north London as Mikel Arteta’s third choice.
Nketiah has looked primed for a new challenge for a while now, and could form a very exciting partnership with Jean-Philippe Mateta at Selhurst Park.
Of course, Nketiah’s exit from Arsenal has fueled talk that Arteta’s side could make a last minute move for Raheem Sterling to act as cover on the wing.
Palace were linked with their own Sterling move in the past week – a microcosm of the merry-go-round that deadline day can often prove.
However, it’s a former Arsenal player who Palace and Oliver Glasner are chasing next.
After Wolves’ attempts to sign Aaron Ramsdale this summer, they turned to Sam Johnstone instead, a cost-effective alternative.
And that’s left Palace with a vacant spot as their number two.
Crystal Palace now agree deal to sign former Arsenal keeper Matt Turner
Journalist shared the news earlier that Palace were targeting a deal for United States goalkeeper Matt Turner on loan.
Nottingham Forest signed Turner from Arsenal a year ago, a Mikel Arteta signing who was let go once David Raya was signed.

And has now confirmed that Turner has a medical booked in south London, presumably coming in to act as Dean Henderson’s number two.
After making just seven appearances for Arsenal, Turner then only made 21 for Forest after making his switch.
There’s been a lot of speculation that Turner would return to the MLS this summer, however, it appears as if interested clubs were ultimately priced out of a move.
Turner underwhelmed at the City Ground as their number one, but he certainly wouldn’t be an issue as a number two in the Premier League.
Arsenal turning to Bournemouth’s Neto in their own goalkeeper pursuit
Of course, Crystal Palace aren’t the only side looking for a new backup goalkeeper right now.
As explained, Ramsdale is leaving Arsenal for Southampton, meaning Arteta needs better support for Raya before the window closes.
Arsenal were looking to sign Joan Garcia from Espanyol, but now appear deterred by the club rejecting their opening offer.
Instead, Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto is now having a medical at Arsenal.
Edu has a strong relationship with Neto, and the 35-year-old is seemingly willing to stand on hold whilst Arsenal decide whether to push for Garcia again.
A true transfer merry-go-round, but it seems as if both Palace and Arsenal will be in good positions once the window closes.
