Crystal Palace enter talks to sign ‘fantastic’ West Ham player on loan

Crystal Palace came into this summer as one of the most exciting teams in the Premier League after last season’s flourish under new manager Oliver Glasner.

The Austrian coach has been a revelation at Selhurst Park with the Eagles looking transformed under Glasner, though the start to the new season has been a disappointing affair for Palace with two losses in their opening two games.

Still, the south London-based side have all the tools needed to make a real impact on the Premier League once again this season, with Palace at work to bring in those final signings that could push Glasner and his squad to new heights once again.

And Palace are now in talks to sign a player from West Ham on loan.

Crystal Palace in talks to sign West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet

According to , Palace have begun talks to sign West Ham attacker Maxwel Cornet, with the Eagles looking to hijack Southampton’s loan move for the Ivory Coast international.

As per the report, talks between Palace and West Ham are going well, with an agreement with the Eagles potentially putting Cornet in a position where the former Burnley star needs to decide himself who he wants to join on loan.

Hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Sean Dyche via , Cornet has shown he has the talent to become a real star in the Premier League, though a change of scenery is more than needed this summer.

And between Palace and Southampton, a move to Selhurst Park could be the more ideal move for Cornet, who could flourish under Glasner and rediscover his spark that made the West Ham forward such an entertaining player to watch.

Palace need to do all they can to convince Cornet to join

Cornet is a top forward when full of confidence and in his stride, and whilst Southampton could help the West Ham winger get out of his shell again, Palace could do an even better job this season.

Glasner has already proved he can get players to hit new heights with Jean-Philippe Mateta one of the in-form strikers in the Premier League in 2024, a redemption arch Cornet will be eager to experience for himself.

And if Cornet has to choose between Palace and Southampton, a move to south London is the obvious choice for the winger, who could be back to his best under Glasner this season.
