Crystal Palace back-up Scott Dann is a realistic Cahill alternative for Fulham
The has linked Fulham with a swoop for Crystal Palace centre-half Scott Dann, with the Eagles rumoured to be eyeing a move for Gary Cahill.
Although earlier had claimed Fulham were admirers of Cahill, a deal for Dann would prove a far more realistic option for the Whites.
The proposed move for the Chelsea defender had stalled over the length of the deal, in addition to Cahill’s lack of desire to join a Fulham side that is battling the drop.
With Dann, the Whites would retain the services of an experienced defender who will have no qualms sacrificing his all for the cause and getting stuck in with a relegation dogfight.

The Palace defender has seen himself fall down the pecking order at Selhurst Park after his long-term injury, with the pairing of Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins clearly first choice in Roy Hodgson’s eyes.
Like Cahill, Dann has been frozen out of the Premier League this campaign, but the Eagles centre-half could slot into the Fulham backline with more ease than the former Blues captain.
Rather than plotting a move for an unmotivated Gary Cahill, Fulham would do well to target Palace’s Scott Dann and enlist a willing defensive stalwart.
