Crystal Palace and West Ham handed big boost in bid to sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea
Crystal Palace and West Ham United will both be looking to add to their respective squads before the transfer window closes, with gaps still left to be filled.
The Hammers have spent heavily already this summer, which has seen them welcome the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Max Kilman, Niclas Füllkrug and others to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, it’s been outgoings that have been the topic at Crystal Palace, as Michael Olise sealed his move to Bayern Munich. Also, Liverpool and Newcastle both want to sign Marc Guehi before the transfer window closes, with Eberechi Eze also attracting interest from Spurs.
However, after locking horns at the weekend, it appears as if these two London clubs are set to go head-to-head for a late summer transfer…

Raheem Sterling willing to take pay-cut with West Ham and Crystal Palace circling
We at TBR Football reported recently that Crystal Palace are in the driving seat to sign Raheem Sterling.
Now, an update from states that West Ham United and Crystal Palace have been handed a boost in their bid to sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.
It’s claimed that Sterling would not expect the same amount of money when he moves on anyway, and he could be forced to accept a lower wage at his new club. The locality of being based in London still is another thing described as being a possible pawn to help lure him to their respective clubs.
Who needs Sterling more?
West Ham United are already pretty stocked in wide areas with the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme and Maxwel Cornet.
You could argue that Cornet is surplus to requirements at the London Stadium, which does leave the Hammers with only four wingers available, so there is the potential need for one more.
However, the same can’t be said for Oliver Glasner as he’s still yet to find a replacement for Olise. There is Jeffrey Schlupp, Daichi Kamada, Matheus Franca and Ismaila Sarr, but none of these players possess anywhere near the quality that Olise had out wide.
Raheem Sterling is a highly experienced Premier League attacker with four top-flight titles and 379 appearances to his name, in which he has scored 123 goals at three of the biggest clubs in England.
Despite Palace adopting more of an approach towards youngsters in recent times, there’s now the perfect opportunity to bring a winger on board who has that creativity and goalscoring ability that they’re currently missing.
