Crystal Palace and West Ham fans react as Chris Wilder confirms player will leave
Chris Wilder has confirmed – – that John Lundstram will leave Sheffield United this summer despite numerous attempts from the Blades to extend his contract. Supporters of both Crystal Palace and West Ham have responded on Twitter.
Lundstram, 26, starred for Sheffield United last season as the Blades surpassed all pre-season expectations – even challenging for Europe. He had a hand in eight goals from midfield, scoring five goals and creating three more in 34 league outings.
But the ex-Everton man’s contract expires in June 2021, and it seems he is desperate to leave Sheffield United. The Blades have offered him numerous offers to remain at Bramall Lane, only for Lundstram to reject said deals.
Blades boss Wilder has confirmed as much, stating that the club will listen to offers for Lundstram in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer. It remains to be seen how much Sheffield United will charge for the maruading midfielder.

“He is a Sheffield United player and still up for selection, but the three options are straightforward for me,” “He runs down his contract, and he has every right to do that, which is not ideal for us.
“Or we try to recoup some value for the player in the January window; or the best option for the football club is he signs the new contract – which doesn’t look like it will happen and that’s unfortunate.”
Rangers, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Burnley were all interested in the Liverpool-born midfielder in the summer. Now, those clubs could come back in for Lundstram – following Wilder’s comments.
Both Palace and West Ham fans reacted to the news that Lundstram could leave Sheffield United in January for what will be a cut-price figure given clubs can get him for nothing next summer. Rangers could even get on a pre-contract deal in January.
Palace fans want him signed:
Decent player Tbf would take for a couple million wouldn't spend more than £10-15 tho

He would be a good option to replace Macca when he hangs them up.
On a free, that could end up being a very Palace like bit of business.
Freedman is a bloodhound for a bargain.

West Ham fans, meanwhile, are also keen on the potential arrival of Lundstram:
Lundstram and Josh King in January please lads

I'd certainly be in favour of this.
Him and King in will do nicely.— Richard64#GSBOUT (@RichardGSBOUT)
