Crouch shares what he finds unbelievable after Liverpool star Jota

Peter Crouch that he is absolutely amazed by how good Diogo Jota is in the air after the Liverpool forward scored another headed goal in their win over Watford.

The Reds struggled to see off Roy Hodgson’s side during the contest. Jurgen Klopp’s men were far from their best for large parts of the game. But they still did enough to keep the pressure on Manchester City.

And it was Jota who was able to break the deadlock during the first-half. He produced a brilliant run to get onto a superb cross from Joe Gomez. And the Portuguese managed to flick the ball past Ben Foster for his 14th Premier League goal of the campaign.

Jota has now scored five goals with his head in all competitions for Liverpool this season. And it follows a header he scored for Portugal during the international break as they booked their spot at the World Cup.

Following the win over the Hornets, Crouch suggested that he cannot get over how successful Jota is in the air for Liverpool.

“What I love about him is, obviously you class him as a winger, but he’s more a fox in the box. He’s got great movement and he can finish. And how good he is in the air for a man of his size is unbelievable. His goal for Portugal in the week, it was a fantastic header,” .

“It’s just fantastic movement to get across the goalkeeper. He’s done it time and time again and his record in the air is fantastic.”

Jota goal highlights why Liverpool are so dangerous in title race

It would be unfair to label Jota an understudy for Liverpool. But obviously, their most famous front three in recent years involves Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

None of those three players had much luck on Saturday. But when they were not at the races, it was Jota who stepped up once again.

And of course, Liverpool also have Luis Diaz in their ranks. With that amount of depth, Liverpool surely have every chance of going on and clinching the title.
