Crouch identifies signing that would see Liverpool or Man City win title next season
that he believes if any of the top Premier League clubs choose to sign Erling Haaland this summer, then they will win next season’s title – including Liverpool and Manchester City.
Leeds-born Haaland, 20, has been on fire for Dortmund of late – scoring a whopping 27 goals in 25 league and cup appearances for the German club in what is his first full season at the Westfalenstadion.
He has overall stats of 43 in 43 for Dortmund, as well as 10 assists. Fabrizio Romano claims on CBS Sports that Haaland does not have a release clause until the summer of 2022 – but that exit clause is worth £65million.
Clearly, in today’s market that is a snip and Dortmund may try to request a bigger fee if clubs come calling this summer. Crouch thinks that if Liverpool or either Manchester club sign Haaland in the summer, they win the title.

“I can’t get enough of this fella,” “What a player we are watching. He’s 20 and he is running over the top of grown men. He is so physically strong, he’s got such exhilarating pace and can score with either foot or his head.
“To give you an idea of how highly I rate him, I will put it in these terms: if Manchester City buy him, they win the title next year. If Liverpool buy him, they win the title. If Manchester United buy him, they’ll be right there.
“If he ended up going to City, following in the footsteps of his Dad, Alfie, then everyone else would need to give up. He’s incredible and if you added him to a team that is already close to being the best in Europe, that would be it.”

TBR’s view – Can Haaland do it in the Premier League?
When Chelsea signed Timo Werner, the belief was that they had landed themselves a huge blockbuster of a player. Since then, he has scored just five Premier League goals – but he is completely different to Haaland.
At Leipzig, Werner was given the freedom to roam and got in behind defences. Most Premier League sides play with a low block against Werner, meaning he cannot use his pace. Haaland, though, has every attribute under the sun.
Physicality, strong in the air, quick, can go past a player with the ball and so much more. He is the perfect number nine, he will be the world’s best number nine in a few years, and he is born for the Premier League. No-brainer.
