Cristian Stellini delivers verdict on Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin

Tottenham fans won’t remember Cristian Stellini very fondly because of how poor their side were during his time at the club, but he is still a very intelligent coach.

The Italian spent close to 17 months at the club and knows many of the players there. A club he’s also very familiar with is Genoa, having spent three years as a player and two years as their U19 manager back in the day.

Stellini delivered his verdict on Djed Spence as he moved to Genoa on loan as a part of the deal that saw Radu Dragusin join Tottenham.

The 49-year-old also had his say on the new Spurs signing. He says he has noticed that Dragusin is ‘very strong’ and has already shown his quality in Italy. However, he has stressed that the Romanian will need some time to adapt at Spurs.

Stellini told : “Dragusin is a very strong player. He has demonstrated that he has value and important characteristics.

“As it has been for many players, making such an important leap will take some time. We are certainly talking about an important prospect.“

Dragusin is a great signing for Tottenham

Radu Dragusin checks plenty of boxes for Tottenham, doesn’t he?

The Romanian is an aggressive defender who isn’t afraid to get stuck in. He’s pretty fast too, which should make it easier for him to adapt to Ange Postecoglou‘s high line. The fact that he’s still just 21 means will only get better in the coming years.

Stellini believes it will take Dragusin some time to settle in, which is understandable as he has never played in the Premier League before and Tottenham’s system is completely different to what he has been used to at Genoa.

With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven back fit, Dragusin will not be rushed in, and that should help him adapt to the English game quite comfortably.
