Cristhian Mosquera names the two former Arsenal players who sold the club to him, they’re good friends

Arsenal have just confirmed the signing of Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera, who admits two former Gunners players sold the “huge” club to him.

Arsenal announced Cristhian Mosquera’s arrival on Thursday afternoon, days after the Gunners agreed a £17million fee for Mosquera.

The Spain Under-21 international has joined up with his new Arsenal teammates in Singapore after agreeing a five-year contract.

The Arsenal media team interviewed Mosquera upon his arrival, and he revealed which ex-Gunners effectively sold the club to him.

Gabriel Paulista and Yunus Musah sang Arsenal’s praises to Cristhian Mosquera

Mosquera said he is good friends with Gabriel Paulista and Yunus Musah, who used to play alongside him at Valencia and were also on Arsenal’s books.

Gabriel played in defence for Arsenal between 2015 and 2017, while Musah was in the Gunners’ academy setup between 2012 and 2019.

Both told Mosquera that Arsenal are a “huge” club, effectively selling the club to him when the Gunners came calling.

“I have special friendships with both of them,” Cristhian told the Arsenal media team. “I’ve stayed in touch with them.

“When Gabi and I were at Valencia, he always said Arsenal was on a different level and something magical and I also played with Yunus once here in London.

“He said the same about how huge this club is.”

Mosquera tells Arsenal fans what to expect from him

Mosquera also told the Arsenal fans what they can expect from him on the pitch and behind the scenes, and what he said will no doubt resonate with the fans.

Mosquera described himself as a player with a lot of energy who wants to improve under the tutelage of the club’s “world-class” coaching staff.

“It’s true my career has moved faster than expected and I’ve had to mature fast,” said the 21-year-old.

“Coming here is a chance to keep learning and improving. I’ll be working with great players and a top-class coaching staff, so that will help me develop personally.

“I’m a player with a lot of energy. I’m young, so I still have plenty to give. I’m fully motivated and excited. Above all, I want to improve, which will create competition within the squad. I’m really happy.”
