‘Crazy’… Michail Antonio says one Manchester United player is so good it’s ‘an absolute joke’
Premier League veteran Michail Antonio has now been discussing the form and potential of one of Manchester United’s new stars.
Despite the doom and gloom that often follows Erik ten Hag around Old Trafford right now, there still are a few reasons for optimism.

Fans will hope that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is about to oversee a whole new era of success for the club.
And based on performances this season, a few players are demonstrating their ability to be a key figure over the next five or so years.
As well as the improvements Rasmus Hojlund is making, United’s Kobbie Mainoo is also looking incredibly good for an 18-year-old.
And it was Mainoo that Antonio was lauding the potential of, a player he thinks is already doing great things at Man United.
Speaking on the ‘’, Antonio thought Mainoo has the world at his feet.

Speaking to Callum Wilson, Antonio said: “What’s crazy about him is that I saw a clip of him last season playing for the academy or the reserves.
“Literally he was bossing the game. He was an absolute joke.

“I have seen a couple of games he has played in and he is treating it like he is playing with the youth team or the reserve team.
“He is controlling the tempo, he has so much confidence, he just believes in everything he is doing.
“He is playing like he’s had years in the game. That’s difficult, for youngsters coming through normally you see nerves.”
Changes are needed
Although Antonio is right to point out Mainoo’s rich potential at Man United, there are still some concerns.
Erik ten Hag’s side aren’t playing positive and progressive football when they face big opponents.
And Ian Wright was recently discussing the change ten Hag will need to make to help Mainoo achieve all that he’s capable of.
It is up for debate whether Old Trafford is currently the best environment for a young player to fulfil their promise – Jadon Sancho would certainly argue otherwise.
But the club’s academy have clearly done an excellent job working with Mainoo, who looks ready to shoulder responsibility for his side despite his young age.
