‘Could’ve been the difference’ – Leeds fans rue missing out on Dan James after he sparkles for Wales

Back in the January transfer window, Leeds United were very keen on Swansea City winger Dan James. The young wide man was a top target for Marcelo Bielsa, .

But Leeds failed to get this deal over the line before the end of the January window and James remains at Swansea.

As each game passes, though, Leeds fans are ruing their missing opportunity as James gets better and better.

On Sunday afternoon, the Wales international made his competitive debut for his country and it took him just five minutes to get on the score-sheet.

James robbed the Slovakian defender and rifled in a powerful low shot from the edge of the box to score the only goal in Wales’ 1-0 win.

It capped a fine individual performance from the 21-year-old ace, who has pace, trickery and an eye for goal. This caused the Slovakian defence problems all afternoon.

With two goals and four assists for Swansea in the league this season, James looks destined for the top. Leeds fans are hoping they can win the race for the winger in the summer.
