Could Tottenham use AC Milan’s interest in Aurier to land a previous target?
It is being widely reported that AC Milan are ready to try and sign Serge Aurier from Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The Rossoneri have tracked the full-back before, that technical director Paolo Maldini held talks with his agent last year, but an offer was never made – they now appear to have reignited their interest.

Aurier was a regular for Tottenham in 2019/20, making 42 appearances in total.
The 2018 signing from Paris Saint-Germain – thought to earn around £70,000-a-week () – has showcased a great aptitude for getting forward from right-back, but sometimes comes unstuck defensively by being rash.
There had been hope amongst Spurs fans that he would have been able to reach Kieran Trippier’s level from a few seasons ago.
Right-back arguably remains a position to strengthen for Spurs and with Milan seemingly back in for Aurier, perhaps the north London giants should request a player they’ve been linked with before as part of any deal.
TBR’s View – Spurs should now request Calabria
that Spurs were set to battle Manchester United for Italian full-back Davide Calabria.

The 23-year-old, who can also fill in at left-back, is known to be a solid defender rather than a marauding, attack-minded full-back.
If Milan are hell-bent on Aurier, then it could be smart of Spurs to try and get Calabria to go in the opposite direction.
Despite playing over 100 times for the Italian giants, he is still quite young and could potentially inject a bit of youth and vitality into a Tottenham backline that had a questionable season in 2019/20.
