Could Leeds’ Bobby Kamwa set sights on leaping ahead of Ryan Edmondson?
It seemed to baffle a lot of Leeds United supporters that Ryan Edmondson did not get a chance in Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season, particularly after the Whites lost Eddie Nketiah ahead of the January transfer window.
Edmondson continued to regularly impress for the under-23s. And yet, he was not given a chance to add to his tally of two senior appearances for the club.

Unfortunately for Edmondson, he is now working his way back from a serious injury. that he was set to miss the majority of the remaining months of the season.
That has provided an opportunity for some of the club’s other attacking prospects to step up. And Bobby Kamwa has been one of those to seemingly benefit from the unfortunate circumstances.

Kamwa has featured up front on a handful of occasions for Carlos Corberan’s men, including during Friday’s draw with Wolves. And he certainly made an impact on the game.

The forward produced a superb first-time finish during the first-half to put Leeds in front.
His hold-up play was perhaps the most impressive aspect of his performance. But the moment of composure in front of goal is certainly an encouraging sign.
And with Kamwa working alongside the first-team in the days leading up to the game (via ), it appears that he is definitely on Marcelo Bielsa’s radar.
It would be a surprise if the 19-year-old made his first-team debut before the campaign concluded. But there is arguably an opportunity for the teenager to push ahead of Edmondson in the pecking order ahead of his return.
Edmondson clearly has the potential to one day make the grade at a very good level. But perhaps his injury may present Kamwa with a fantastic chance to prove that he is also a name to keep a very close eye on.
