Could Jose Mourinho turn Harry Kane into his new Diego Costa at Tottenham?
There was something notably different about Harry Kane during last weekend’s game between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
The England captain led the line as usual for Spurs, but there appeared to be a new kind of fire burning inside of him.

Kane was his typical self in that, he dropped deep to get involved and show good technical qualities as he often does, but everything was done with a bit more nastiness.
The 26-year-old was seen backing into players and barging people more frequently and more forcefully than usual.
At one point, he got into a scuffle with Robert Snodgrass after going in slightly late on the Scot, and threw himself to the ground – the exchange earned them both a yellow card, Kane’s first of the season.
His performance – which was capped with a goal – was all very reminiscent of a brilliant player Jose Mourinho brought to English football as Chelsea manager back in 2014.
TBR’s view – Kane Mourinho’s new Diego Costa?
Kane reportedly has regular chats with new boss Mourinho, and it would be unsurprising if the Portuguese has already told the Tottenham vice-captain to get nastier on the pitch, a la Diego Costa – whom he recently branded an ‘animal’ (LiveScore ).

Spanish striker Costa was one of the most feared forwards in English football under Mourinho, proving himself to be a total menace week in week out.
He wasn’t just a physical and aggressive handful though, he was also technically strong and a clinical finisher – just like Kane.
Mourinho appears to greatly value physicality. Kane has a fine physical build, and come well become a monstrous, Costa-esque figure under the guidance of his new manager.
