‘Could haunt us’: Some Spurs fans react as ‘tremendous’ reported target joins another top-flight side
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been giving their thoughts on the news that reported Spurs target Eberechi Eze has joined a Premier League rival.
Tottenham were said to have been tracking Eze for some time, with Spurs scout Brian Carey present to see the 22-year-old star in QPR’s 3-1 win at Preston in March, according to .
More recently, the reported in June that Jose Mourinho was “thought to be an admirer” of the player and that Tottenham’s interest remained going into the summer.

However, Crystal Palace have won the race for Eze, announcing his arrival on Friday on a five-year deal for a fee to have cost an initial £16.5million which could rise to £19.5million.
Aston Villa, Fulham, Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham were also said to be interested in the attacker, added .
Some Tottenham fans feel that the club has made an error in not snapping Eze up:
Shame he did not end up with us. Fantastic player with a big potential.
-Was close to sign with us.
-Visited Hotspur way
-Talked with Mourinho
-Deal with QPR would have been easy.Feel this is a deal that could haunt us in the coming years.

Surprised we (THFC) didn’t follow through on Eze. Can only assume (the limited) budget is more focused on “what we need right now” this season.

Eze will be that player we will get linked with in 2 or 3 years but won’t pay the 50m fee for. And everyone will wonder why we didn’t pay 15mil in this window.

Would have loved Eze at Spurs

If can keep hold of , imagine the damage he and will cause, if they’re playing together. With the team assembled on paper, they should be aiming for top 8/10. I wouldn’t have minded Ebere Eze at Tottenham but he’s in good hands at ! 🦅

Eze enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 season for Queens Park Rangers, during which he claimed 14 goals and eight assists in 46 Championship games.
“There are no limits for Eze,” QPR boss Mark Warburton told last December. “It is down to him and how hard he works.
“Ebe is a tremendous talent. I want him to enjoy his football and he has got to understand how much hard work is required to maximise the talent that he has.”
