Could Christian Eriksen be a factor in helping Tottenham sign Joachim Andersen?

Tottenham reportedly have defender Joachim Andersen on their radar from Italian club Sampdoria.

, Spurs view the 22-year-old as the most likely replacement in their defence if they lose current star Toby Alderweireld.

It is understood that Alderweireld could be snapped up for £25million due to a clause in his current deal if they are unable to negotiate a new contract.

The report details that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have started searching for a potential replacement and Andersen tops the pile so far.

Sampdoria’s highly-rated centre-back is believed to valued at around £35million after impressing in Serie A.

Andersen is a ball-playing defender that has been an ever-present in his team’s XI this season and helped them to seventh in the Italian top flight.

It would be interesting to see if current Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen could be a factor in signing the defender.

Andersen is a Denmark Under-21 international and would surely love to become teammates alongside the biggest name in Danish football right now Eriksen.

Spurs should certainly try to use Eriksen to give Andersen a nudge into a Premier League switch.

Sampdoria’s defender certainly looks to fit the bill as a potential Pochettino signing, but he should be added to improve the squad options not to directly replace the world-class Alderweireld.
