Could Bielsa be tempted to drop Leeds loanee Jack Harrison?

If it was not for Jack Harrison being on loan, it seems highly likely that the 24-year-old would have started every single Premier League game for Leeds United so far this season.

Harrison has started 24 of the Whites’ 25 league games since promotion. The only game he has missed came against parent club Manchester City back in October.

It is a fantastic run from the winger, who has scored six goals and provided four assists in the top flight. He is well on his way to achieving his best tally yet across his three spells with Leeds.

However, he also seems to be enduring a tougher run of form right now. Since scoring his third goal in four games in the win over Crystal Palace, Harrison has gone off the boil slightly.

He has been taken off at half-time against both Arsenal and Southampton. And against Wolves, he came off after 81 minutes having struggled to make a major impression in the game.

Meanwhile, Helder Costa looks to be enjoying a resurgence after his own struggles. Admittedly, he missed a glorious chance to get an equaliser at Molinuex.

But he scored at Arsenal. And he was hugely impressive as Leeds kicked through the gears in the second-half against Southampton.

The Portuguese is staking a claim for a return to the starting lineup. And perhaps it is actually coming at the perfect time for Harrison.

Bielsa is yet to drop Harrison – who earns £15,000-a-week, – at any stage this season. But perhaps this weekend may be the time to make a switch.

Costa seems to have the momentum and confidence right now. So it could potentially make sense to take Harrison out of the starting lineup for a game or two in the hope that the break helps him rediscover his best form once again.
