Controversial former Leeds United chairman Massimo Cellino talks up return to English football
Italian maverick Massimo Cellino could be set for a return to England and Leeds United fans will be hoping he stays well clear of Elland Road.
The former Leeds chairman had a renegade time in charge of the Whites, including several managerial sackings, questions over his fit and proper person status, and the occasional wild press conference.
He is now in charge of Serie A side Brescia. However, he has been vocally critical of how the football associations in Italy have dealt with the global health crisis and is also of the belief that the current financial systems in Italy are unfair.
, as , he made it clear that his grievances could see him return to English shores.
“This is no longer my football, it has no future. Being a President has become impossible. I can no longer accept being practically like the days of GEA. It’s like sitting at a poker table when your opponent is hiding cards up his sleeve and using fake money…

Leeds United fans will no doubt want him nowhere near their club and it seems very unlikely he could muscle his way into the Andrea Radrizzani regime again.
Instead, Cellino would need to find another club in need of a financial boost, of which there is likely to be plenty due to the current financial crisis.
At that point, he might be welcomed back to Elland Road in the opposing director box with a sense of macabre humour at some of the highlights of the Cellino years in West Yorkshire.
