‘Continue to work’: Conte says one Tottenham player has a lot to improve
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte believes that Emerson Royal has ‘big space for improvement’.
Spurs hosted Crystal Palace in the Premier League yesterday and Conte’s men blew the Eagles away. After losing 3-0 at Selhurst Park earlier in the season, Tottenham got their revenge and they completely deserved it.
Goals from Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min gave Spurs all three points, but Emerson Royal impressed as well. The Brazilian was given an 8/10 rating by , but his manager believes he can become even better.

Conte: Emerson has big space for improvement
In his press conference after the game, Conte was quizzed about Tottenham’s Brazilian right-side of Lucas and Emerson.
He said, as per : “We’re talking about two Brazilian players. For sure, being the same nationality helps them.
“I’m happy because they have a good link and connection but for sure Emerson has big space for improvement.
“Emerson is very young and he has to continue to work. In that side, to have Lucas Moura and this good connection could be good for the whole team.”
A look at Emerson’s stats v Crystal Palace
Emerson started at right wing-back yesterday and he was brilliant.
The Brazilian had 91 touches of the ball and completed 51 of his 56 attempted passes, maintaining an impressive 91 per cent passing accuracy. He registered four key passes and created one big chance, which is a phenomenal record for a defender. ()
Emerson also registered six tackles and two interceptions. He was dribbled past just once in the entire game and only Lucas Moura was given a higher rating yesterday. ()
Conte is right, Emerson has a lot to improve. However, the early signs are good and Tottenham fans have every reason to be optimistic about the future.
