Conte suggests when Tottenham hope to have Rodrigo Bentancur back

Antonio Conte has told that he hopes to have Rodrigo Bentancur back available to face Everton on Monday with the midfielder out of Tuesday’s FA Cup tie.

Spurs lost Bentancur to injury during the Burnley defeat after a nasty-looking moment at Turf Moor. Unsurprisingly, he missed the trip to Leeds, with Harry Winks taking his place at Elland Road.

Obviously, Conte’s men won that game. However, it is a blow to be without Bentancur based on the start he has made to his Tottenham career.

with Middlesbrough this week that the Uruguayan would miss out. However, he has now issued a more encouraging update on the 24-year-old ahead of their next Premier League game.

He also suggested that Oliver Skipp is hoping to come back in the not too distant future.

“Bentancur is improving and I think after this game, he can come back with us,” .

“Skippy has started to work. We’re hoping to have him in one week for training sessions. I hope so because we’re talking about a really good guy. He’s suffering a lot, Skippy, not being available.”

Tottenham welcoming Bentancur and Skipp back soon will be huge boost for Conte

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Winks were excellent at the weekend as Tottenham started to get their top-four push back on track.

But clearly, it would be a massive boost when Bentancur and Skipp are back available.

Skipp has made an unbelievable start to life as a regular first-teamer at Tottenham. And the midfield display of Bentancur and Hojbjerg at the Etihad Stadium was absolutely amazing.

The quartet have real potential. So it could make a real difference to have all of them back in the ranks for the final push of the season.

Obviously, Tottenham will hope to keep their FA Cup run going. But they also face crucial games against the likes of Manchester United, West Ham and Arsenal in the weeks ahead.

Bentancur has made an incredibly bright start to his spell with Tottenham. And he will hope to establish himself as a player Spurs cannot do without upon his return.
