Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte all but confirmed in his press conference today that Ryan Sessegnon will start against Mura on Thursday.

The youngster has had problems with injuries since he joined Spurs for £25 million in 2019 (). After a difficult debut season, he was sent out on loan to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, where he played 29 times in all competitions.

Sessegnon returned to Tottenham earlier this summer and Spurs fans have been very keen to see him in action. He has only played three times this season, but if Conte’s words are anything to go by, he will make his fourth appearance tomorrow.

Here’s what the Tottenham boss said about the 21-year-old…

Conte: Sessegnon is ready to start

In his press conference this morning, Conte was asked if the 21-year-old is ready to start a game now. The Italian responded with a resounding yes before claiming that he can’t wait to see how he fares against Mura.

Conte said, as per : “Now he’s ready to start the game.

“I can’t wait to see his performance because he is a talented player with space for improvement.”

Just like Conte, Tottenham fans can’t wait to see him get a consistent run of games in the senior side.

Everyone knows that Sessegnon is a hugely talented player with immense potential. Under the right manager, he could develop into a fantastic player in the coming years, and Conte could well be the perfect man for him.

It will be interesting to see where Sessegnon will play if he starts tomorrow. A wing-back role is the obvious answer, but the youngster is really versatile and Conte may well have a surprise for us.
