Conte press conference before Arsenal clash
Conte said: “For sure the situation is going to improve, especially for Kulusevski. He had a training session in the last few days with us.
“I think he is going to be ready to play. About Richarlison and Rodrigo, also both situations are improving.
“I think in this moment Deki is much more ready to play, especially as I don’t take risks because for us it is very important to have patience with these important players for a long period.
“To accelerate the process to recovery, and to lose them again, I don’t think this is good or positive. We will see. We have another training session tomorrow to monitor the situation with Rodrigo and Richy.”
As Conte says, he does not want to rush Richarlison and Bentancur back into action and risk losing them for an even longer period.
But he has opened the door to the idea they may be involved on Sunday and even if they can play from the bench, that would be a boost for Spurs.
Their bench has looked so weak and incapable of altering the course of games in recent weeks, so any returning quality to change that situation is a boost.
It remains to be seen whether Kulusevski will go straight into the team in place of Bryan Gil, or whether he will be among the substitutes too.
