Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is set to lead his side to the Riverside Stadium tonight to take on Middlesbrough in the next round of the FA Cup.

Spurs returned to winning ways on Saturday after an impressive 4-0 win over Leeds United. Conte is a happy man again and after the doom and gloom that followed the defeat at Burnley, the confidence is high in and around the squad.

Tottenham got close to breaking their trophy drought in the Carabao Cup but fell short in the semi-final. The FA Cup is a more difficult yet very real opportunity for Spurs to get their hands on some silverware, but they’ll have to get past Boro tonight.

Conte will likely start a strong team, but three Tottenham wonderkids, who were not allowed to feature in the under-23s game against Leeds last night, could all be given some game time later today.

Conte could unleash three Tottenham wonderkids vs Middlesbrough

Spurs’ under-23s took on Leeds at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium yesterday and unlike their seniors, they could only manage a point in the end. Jez Davies’ 87th-minute strike earned them a draw but the main talking point was the absence of Dane Scarlett, Alfie Devine and skipper Harvey White.

The trio are arguably three of Tottenham’s brightest prospects at the moment and unless there’s an undisclosed injury, their unavailability for last night’s game can only mean one thing – they are in Conte’s squad for the game against Boro later today.

That is really exciting for Tottenham fans whose expectations of the trio are massive and almost every supporter is convinced that they will be huge players for the club in the coming years.

Scarlett has already caught Spurs boss’ eye

Conte has always been viewed by people as someone who prefers experience over youth in his sides. That may be true but the Italian knows a fantastic talent when he sees one and Scarlett is definitely someone who has impressed him.

this week, Conte labelled the 17-year-old as the best prospect in Tottenham’s academy.

He said: “I don’t give a gift to my players, even if you’re 17 years old. I think Dane is working hard, he is a really good prospect from the academy. At this moment for sure the best prospect from the academy. But we have a couple of really good players training with us and improving. Dane has to continue to work very hard.

We have to find the best solution in training because in the past he had many, many injuries. But he has great potential, he’s only 17, he has to continue to improve, to grow, to understand and to think about football.”
