Conte lauds Tottenham fans for ‘outstanding’ noise made vs Brighton
Antonio Conte that the Tottenham Hotspur fans created during their FA Cup win over Brighton as ‘outstanding’, while he claimed that their home stadium has now become a fortress for his side.
Spurs largely breezed into the fifth round of the competition after a win over the Seagulls on Saturday. Harry Kane scored a goal either side of an effort from Emerson Royal that was sent into the back of his own net by Solly March.

The result maintains Tottenham’s brilliant record at home under Conte. Their only defeat came in the Carabao Cup semi-final tie with Chelsea last month.
Meanwhile, they now have seven wins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the Italian came in. And Conte suggested that Spurs are now creating a home that opposition teams do not want to come to.

“Our stadium has to become a fortress. Our opponent has to come here and feel a bad atmosphere for them and a good atmosphere for us,” .
The noise here tonight was outstanding. The fans backing us from the start until the end. We need this enthusiasm and noise. It was a good night and we need to continue this way.”
Conte establishing Tottenham as one of the best on their own ground
Tottenham currently sit in pole position for the top four. Spurs are seventh in the Premier League. However, they have games in hand over all of the sides above them. And they are only two points adrift of those Champions League places.
They face some daunting or tricky away games. Conte will take his Tottenham side to the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool by the time the campaign concludes.
But their home form is going to be crucial. The North London Derby is set to be rearranged. Meanwhile, West Ham will also travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the weeks ahead.
Tottenham now have two home games ahead. Both Southampton and Wolves travel to North London. And Conte will be hoping that his side can kick on after an assured display against Brighton.
Only the top two have taken more points from their last five home games in the league. So Tottenham do indeed look to be turning their home into a fortress.
