Conte calls up teenage prodigy with ‘shades of Bruno Fernandes’ to Spurs training pre-Norwich

Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League fate is in their own hands ahead of their final Premier League game of the season.

Spurs were struggling at the start of the season, prompting Daniel Levy to sack Nuno Espirito Santo and appoint Antonio Conte.

The Italian has improved Tottenham massively and, with just one game to go, they are favourites for a top-four finish.

Spurs head to already-relegated Norwich two points clear of Arsenal, their only remaining challengers for Champions League qualification.

Tottenham have a much better goal difference than their north London rivals, so a point should be enough to seal fourth place.

Conte has been putting his Spurs players through their paces this week ahead of the crunch clash at Carrow Road.

Several Tottenham youngsters took part in the latest session, as per Spurs’ YouTube and social media feeds.

One of those was Alfie Devine, a player tipped for stardom at N17.

The 17-year-old can be spotted running at 2 minutes 12 seconds in.

“Top class” talent

Devine, who joined the Spurs academy in 2020 from Wigan, is already the Lilywhites’ youngest player and goalscorer.

Jamie Carragher, whose son James also came through the Latics academy, Devine as “top class” and was “gutted” the Latics didn’t keep him.

Last August, Tottenham handed Devine a as reward for his progress in the N17 ranks.

According to , Jose Mourinho told the player that he sees ‘shades of Bruno Fernandes’ in him.

This season, Devine has been playing for the Under-23s, and he already looks a cut above at that level.

He has nine goals and three assists from 17 Premier League 2 appearances, testament to his progress and quality.

The next step for Devine should be a loan move away, but perhaps Conte will give him some minutes against Norwich.
