‘Considered likely’: Fabrizio Romano shares outgoing Aston Villa transfer update

Aston Villa will speak to Clement Lenglet’s camp over potentially cutting his Villans loan spell short.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has taken to with the update involving the Villa on-loan defender.

Lenglet has found game time hard to come by at Villa Park since he arrived on loan from Barcelona in the summer.

The 28-year-old has only played 450 minutes for the Villans, and all of these have come in the Europa Conference League.

With Lenglet not having played a single minute in the Premier League for Villa, it looks as though the claret and blue side is reconsidering his loan spell.

Romano believes a parting of the ways between the Villans and the Frenchman is “likely” in January, with Barca also set to be kept updated on discussions.

Lenglet is apparently on the radar of AC Milan, who are waiting for more information on the conditions of a prospective loan deal, added the transfer insider.

As far as transfer decisions go, this is very much a no-brainer for both Villa and Lenglet.

The Villans brought the player to B6 following Tyrone Mings’ season-ending injury, but Unai Emery has barely made use of him.

His only appearances for the club have come in the Conference League, and he hasn’t made a single appearance in the league.

In addition, Lenglet was left out of the squad completely for the final Conference League group game against Zrinjski Mostar.

Luckily Lenglet seems to have another good club looking to try and sign him in the January transfer window and make use of his services.

Milan, one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world, are still just about in the race for the Serie A title, and are also in the Europa League and the Coppa Italia.
