Conor Coady discusses Newcastle takeover
at Newcastle United finally completing a takeover, that saw the club oust Mike Ashley as owner.
A 14-year stint as owner saw Newcastle go from a club in the Champions League, to one that have been battling relegation – even going down.
Towards the end of his stint as owner, Ashley chose not to invest in the squad. It left Newcastle only able to spend what the club made itself.
It meant the club went backwards – relying on the performance of Rafa Benitez to keep them afloat. Now, a takeover has gone through.
Optimism is restored. Wolves skipper Coady gave his verdict, labelling himself delighted to see Newcastle finally have something to celebrate.

“It’s got everyone talking. Newcastle are an absolutely incredible football club. You feel that when you go up and play there,”
“It’s brilliant for them, but they’re going to be tough to play. You want the Premier League to get better. It is something we’re looking forward to.”
Coady on Newcastle takeover: What can we expect in next week?
The new owners will have been in charge for two weeks on Thursday. They have overseen the exit of Steve Bruce, and a new manager is expected soon.
Paulo Fonseca, Eddie Howe and Lucien Favre are being linked with the post. But Graeme Jones will take charge against Palace on Saturday.
Multiple reports continue in regards to potential new signings, though without a director of football – it remains to be seen if they are true.
Coady is right. For fans, it is exciting – it has everyone talking. Who will they sign? Who will be in charge? Once again, Newcastle are the talk of the town.
