‘Completely different’… Glenn Hoddle shares what he’s noticed has totally changed at Tottenham this season

Glenn Hoddle has shared what he’s noticed has totally changed at Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Speaking on , Hoddle claimed that the atmosphere at Tottenham’s stadium is ‘completely different’ under Ange Postecoglou

Postecoglou has enjoyed a positive start to life at Spurs despite a difficult couple of games last week.

The Aussie boss currently has Spurs sitting in fourth place and they were leading the way before injuries and suspensions to key players.

But the feeling around Tottenham at the moment is a complete contrast to the atmosphere under Antonio Conte last season.

The Spurs fans have bought into Postecoglou’s project so far and even after a home defeat to Chelsea last Monday, they applauded their players off the pitch.

And Glenn Hoddle believes that is largely down to Postecoglou.

Hoddle on what has totally changed at Tottenham this season

Speaking on talkSPORT, Hoddle discussed Tottenham’s current injury problems and singled out Postecoglou for praise.

He said: “The 11, the spine of the team if they stayed fit, I was thinking, is that going to happen? No, it’s not.

“In the Premier League, you’re going to get injuries and suspensions, and that’s what happened. That’s where the test comes.

“I don’t think they have the squad deep enough. While everyone was fit, I think they were going to go toe to toe. And it was about being positive.

“Ange has got them believing. That stadium is completely different to what it was last year, it was a bit toxic at Tottenham last year towards the end of the season.

“Fans weren’t looking forward to going, they were sort of going but arm behind the back type thing. But this year he has turned it around quite quickly with the style of play and the start they have had.

“But at the end of the day it was about the longevity of those players staying fit.”

Spurs fans have bought into Postecoglou’s style of play after four years of dull football under his predecessors.

The Aussie has completely transformed this current Tottenham side and that was evident even in the 2-1 defeat at Wolves as he urged his players forward.

Of course, the former Celtic boss looks set for a tricky few weeks ahead after losing James Maddison and Micky van de Ven through injury.

But with Destiny Udogie set to return and Cristian Romero back next month, you wouldn’t bet against Postecoglou getting Spurs back on track once again.
