Cole Palmer and Dominic Solanke left seriously impressed by £12m Aston Villa player against Wolves yesterday

Both Cole Palmer and Dominic Solanke were left amazed by the performance of one Aston Villa player in yesterday’s much needed win.

Unai Emery saw his side overcome Wolverhampton Wanderers’ strong start to the game to clinch a deserved 2-0 victory.

The visitors started the derby well, keeping possession in Villa’s half, but Emiliano Martinez dealt with any attempts quite comfortably.

And as the game went on, Villa’s class became more and more clear and Moussa Diaby’s strike definitely then settled things down.

Emery eventually watched his side control the game, with Ezri Konsa scoring a second to secure the three points.

And having watched Tottenham Hotspur secure three points late on against Luton Town already, Villa knew there was no space to slip up, and it showed in their performance.

Youri Tielemans was also impressive in the middle, making up for some of what was lost in John McGinn’s absence.

But having scored the second goal mentioned, Konsa’s versatility at right-back probably stood out the most.

Diego Carlos played centrally on this occasion, and Konsa really did thrive out wide.

Villa star Ezri Konsa proved his England credentials against Wolves yesterday

Of course, Ezri Konsa is now firmly in Gareth Southgate’s England plans, a player who deserves to head to the Euros.

And that being said, it was two other England internationals who were praising Konsa on after yesterday’s game.

Both Cole Palmer and Dominic Solanke replied to Konsa’s post, which was celebrating his monumental week.

Konsa uploaded four photos with the caption: “Perfect week topped off with 3 points, a clean sheet & a long awaited goal. Unreal support from you villains.”

Palmer simply replied saying: “Ez!!!” whereas Solanke commented: “Wharra finishhhh.”

Konsa’s stock is definitely through the roof right now, and the Villa man really did display the full array of his talent against Wolves yesterday.

Yes, his goal may have been slightly fortuitous, but it was a lung-busting run down the right that deserved reward, which came via Konsa’s delicate cross to the far post.

England surely can’t ignore such a versatile and consistent talent this summer, a player who solves so many issues for Southgate.

And at , the deal to bring Konsa to the club looks better with each and every passing day.

All that being said, Darren Bent did recently share his thoughts on Konsa going to Euros with England this summer.
