Cody Gakpo names who is actually the fastest player at Liverpool now

Liverpool have some absolutely rapid players in their squad right now.

Virgil van Dijk has been named as one of the Premier League’s fastest defenders, while Mohamed Salah’s speed is the envy of many attackers.

The likes of Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate are also seriously speedy.

However, according to Cody Gakpo, speaking to Pro Direct Soccer, there’s another player who is actually the quickest at Liverpool.

Indeed, the Dutchman has named Darwin Nunez as the fastest player at Liverpool, claiming that the Uruguayan is an absolutely rapid player with bags of speed.

Darwin Nunez is Liverpool’s fastest player says Cody Gakpo

Gakpo named the man ahead of the likes of Diaz and Salah as his fastest teammate at Liverpool.

Interestingly, Gakpo named Kyle Walker as the fastest player he has ever come up against.

“Who’s the fastest?” Gakpo was asked.

“Nunez, Darwin Nunez, he’s one of the fastest if not the fastest in the team,” Gakpo said.

“Who would you say your fastest opponent is?” Gakpo was asked.

“Kyle Walker,” Gakpo said.

Who is Liverpool’s fastest player?

Gakpo says that Nunez is Liverpool’s fastest player, and the numbers do indeed back that up.

According to , Nunez is actually the Reds’ quickest player.

Nunez is slightly ahead of Mohamed Salah in terms of speed, and there are a couple of surprising names who round out the top five.

Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez are in fact two of the Reds’ quickest players, which is something of a shock considering just how electric a player like Luis Diaz looks on the pitch.

It’s not a surprise to see Nunez topping this chart though. The Uruguayan combines incredible speed with a ridiculously long stride length, and once he gets going, he’s almost impossible to stop.

Nunez has so many weapons in his arsenal to make himself a top striker, and if he could just put it all together, he would be a world-class player.
